Refining Relationships: How Honesty and Trust Create Growth

I am honored to be chosen for

Recognized for Service to Clients!

Look for me in the award section in the January issue of the Los Angeles Magazine.

Only a very limited group of all the Wealth Managers in the Los Angeles area qualified and were chosen based on our service to our clients. My clients were an important factor in the research criteria, with areas including retention and client satisfaction. Your loyalty and trust are very important to me so it means a lot to me to qualify for this award. I wanted to personally thank you and express my gratitude for your business.

As I reflect on this award and all it means to me, I am reminded of a sermon I heard around this time last year. Pastor Caleb Kaltenbach of Discovery Church in Simi Valley is a friend and trusted advisor of mine. His sermons always challenge and inspire me in both my family life and my work. Last Christmas, he spoke about Relationships - their joys and their challenges, and how we are called to build them on a foundation of honesty. You Can't Do It On Your Own

Relationships are so important. They ground us and give our lives meaning, especially in family relationships. One of the great joys of the Christmas season is the opportunity to spend time with family. The rituals of the holidays strengthen our bonds and create treasured memories. Even when life gets complicated and we face challenges in our family lives, it is always a blessing just to be with our loved ones.

In addition to our families, we need a larger community around us. Friends and neighbors enrich our lives and share the joys and burdens of life with us. Without a community to be a part of and contribute to, we are alone. As Pastor Kaltenbach explained in his sermon, the word "friend" comes from the Hebrew for "he who loves." A true friend supports us when we are seeking to be our best, and is willing to stand up to us if we begin to stray down the wrong path.

I try to treat my clients as friends in this way. I offer my qualified guidance and share my knowledge with them so that they can make the right decisions for their financial future. I take an active interest in their lives and their success. Together, we build a lasting relationship based on trust and honesty. We have created a community with our clients so they don't have to be alone when it comes to ensuring their financial future.

Refining Relationships

The best relationships result in growth for both parties. Through a mutual understanding, we grow together and become better than we would have been on our own. This is why I am so grateful for my friendship with Pastor Kaltenbach. I view my relationship with my clients through this light as well. It is my constant goal to help them become happier, more prosperous, and more secure.

I learn a lot from my clients. Each has a unique perspective, a unique set of needs, and their own individual goals and aspirations. I learned early on that one-size-fits-all financial planning just wasn't enough. Through listening to the remarkable diversity of my clients desires, I have come to better understand how to tailor a financial plan to the individual and ensure that their growth serves their needs and goals.

Growing Together

I believe it is this relationship with my clients that has empowered me to be successful in my work on their behalf. This is why it is so gratifying to be recognized by the Five Star Awards organization for service to my clients. I feel honored to have my work acknowledged, but even more honored to continue to serve my clients with the Lindsey & Lindsey core values of Strength, Stability, and Integrity.

The Five Star Wealth Manager award, administered by Crescendo Business Services, LLC (dba Five Star Professional), is based on 10 objective criteria: 1. Credentialed as a registered investment adviser or a registered investment adviser representative; 2. Active as a credentialed professional in the financial services industry for a minimum of 5 years; 3. Favorable regulatory and complaint history review (As defined by Five Star Professional, the wealth manager has not: A. Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; B. Had more than a total of three customer complaints filed against them [settled or pending] with any regulatory authority or Five Star Professional’s consumer complaint process. Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through Five Star Professional’s consumer complaint process; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint filed with a regulatory authority; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy; E. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients; 6. One-year client retention rate; 7. Five-year client retention rate; 8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; 9. Number of client households served; 10. Education and professional designations. Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or awarded. Once awarded, wealth managers may purchase additional profile ad space or promotional products. The award methodology does not evaluate the quality of services provided and is not indicative of the winner’s future performance. 3,105 Los Angeles wealth managers were considered for the award; 372 (11 percent of candidates) were named Five Star Wealth Managers.
