Mark Swartz is an independent financial advisor with nearly two decades of experience in the financial services industry. He specializes in developing unique financial strategies that help clients build and maintain a pension for their retirement. As founder of Mark Swartz Investment Services, Mark is focused on educating people about the best possible solutions to address their investment needs. He believes strongly that by helping clients understand the risks and rewards of individual investments, they will be better able to make the best possible financial decisions to meet their needs.
As further evidence of his commitment to financial literacy, Mark has taught investment classes for major Northern California employers including Sandia National Lab, BART, the San Francisco Police Department, Valley Care Health System and Simpson Strong-Tie Manufacturing, as well as for students at Cal State University East Bay Extended Education program. He is also a former faculty member of Las Positas College Community Education program where he taught Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement to hundreds of pre-retiree for over 10 years.
Mark became a financial advisor in order to provide solid, sound advice to the average investor; the importance of which he learned in childhood. In today’s automated world, he is adamant that nothing can replace simple human touch when providing that advice. For that reason he strives to ensure his clients will speak with a live person on the telephone, and their calls will be answered promptly with a warm response to their inquiries.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin. He holds the following industry licenses: Series 6, 7, 63 and 65.
A father of two children and grandfather of three, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and staying active in his community. He is a member of Alameda Friendly Visitors, a volunteer organization providing weekly visits to people confined to hospitals, homes or facilities.
